Oil-coated silicone keypads, also known as matte smooth silicone keypads, are designed to enhance durability and resilience through compression molding. During manufacturing, symbols and designs are printed on the rubber keypad’s surface. A fine mist of protective oil is then applied, forming a shield that safeguards the symbols and characters from wear and scratches. This process not only protects but also imparts a smooth, matte finish to the keypad, ensuring longevity and maintaining aesthetic appeal.
Versatile Surface Protection Options
In addition to oil coating, there are several other surface protection methods available: PU (polyurethane) coating, epoxy coating, and plastic keycaps. While oil coating is the most cost-effective option, PU and epoxy coatings provide superior durability. Both oil-coated and PU-coated keypads have a matte finish, whereas epoxy-coated keypads boast a clear, glossy resin finish. Although plastic keycaps offer robust protection, they are more expensive due to higher molding and labor costs.

Illuminated Keypads:
These keypads feature laser-engraved characters or designs on the silicone surface, allowing LED light to shine through evenly. This method ensures uniform illumination across the keypad. A wide range of design options, including Pantone and RAL colors, are available for laser engraving.
Printed Silicone Buttons:
Using screen printing, ink is applied to the surface of silicone buttons, followed by a drying process. This technique is popular for rubber keypads and enables the creation of vivid, detailed designs. Both Pantone and RAL color options are available for printed silicone buttons.
